What CORE can do for you!

If your answer to any of these questions is yes, CORE Nutrition Planning is for you! Many athletes have questions about nutrition before and during their training and races. There are many opinions, some of which are conflicting, some not based on science and some that could actually harm performance. CORE is a one stop solution for these issues.

CORE is based on science (aka evidence) and helps you to plan your nutrition in just a few simple steps. It takes into account the latest recommendations from science with your personal preferences added to come up with the perfect plan for you and your race. When you are racing, CORE will know what products are available on course, and where these will be handed to you. You can customise your plan while CORE ensures your plan is sound. You will get a summary of what you need to eat and drink during a race. All you have to do is follow the plan and have a great race. Integrated weather.

Recently we integrated weather into CORE. Long, midterm and short term forecasts are derived from the award winning weather app Dark Sky. This means that you will always do the nutrition planning for your event with the best possible weather forecast available at the time of planning. Obviously, getting the weather conditions right is important, especially for fluid intake, as temperature and humidity will affect sweat rate. An accurate forecast is therefore critical to a good plan. There is still an option to override the forecast and plan your nutrition with a temperature that you enter yourself. 

More than 1000 products in CORE.

We currently have over 1000 products in CORE that can be used to plan your nutrition. The long list of products contains sports drinks, gels, chews and energy bars from over 50 of the most popular brands. It also includes alternative food choices such as a peanut butter sandwich, bananas, rice cakes and other portables often used by athletes. A list of products and brands currently available in CORE can be found here. We will continue to add to this list of products and if your favourite product is missing from the list please send us an email with a request to add your product to admin@fuelthecore.com. Please include a link to a website or location where we can find the product’s nutrition information if possible.

Highlighted events in April and May.

Every week we add new events to CORE. CORE will know where the aid stations are and what foods will be available to the athletes at each of those stations. This makes it easy to plan your nutrition for the event. Below is an overview of some important upcoming events you can find in CORE.

CORE used in Milan-San Remo.

Several pro-riders used CORE in their race to the Sun: the Primavera or Milan San Remo. Nutrition is a key factor in one of the longest one day races of the professional calendar. At the start riders from several teams were seen with CORE nutrition plans stuck to their top tube. Even one of the most experienced riders of the pro peloton Marcel Sieberg from Lotto Soudal was spotted with the plan on his bike. CORE was also used in Gent-Wevelgem, the  Tour of Flanders and other races.
